Hiram W. Keehn was born Jul. 1830 in PA, and married Keturah B. (probably Keturah B. Frye) about 1864, she born July 1844 in PA. They were in IN by about 1866, in IL by 1870, then back in IN, in Indianapolis, sometime after 1875. Children were Sarah B. Keehn born 1866 IN, Edwin Keehn born about 1870 IL, Clarence Keehn born about 1873 IL, and Maria born 1875 IL. Hiram died in 1903 and Keturah died in 1926, both in Indianapolis. My question: where in PA did Hiram and Keturah come from and who were their parents?

KUHN (U with an umlat) in the German Immigration
Records showing Jacob, A21 & his brother Peter, A18 came
over on the Ship Marlborough, Thomas Bell, Master, from
Rotterdam & Cowes, arrived in Phila., 9/23/1741. There
was another ship that carried a Jacob KUHN to America,
It was the ship Neptune, John Mason,Captain, on 10/4/1752.
This is what is known of Jacob's Descendency down
to & after 1850. There is room on the sheets for additionial
information on dates & names of the families listed. This is
written by George Henry KEEHN, (GeorgeKeehn@Yahoo.Com)
so that other descendents will have this information.

Notes for Jacob KUHN "The Elder". The following is a
partial abstract of his will. Jacob KUHN, Reading, Pa., cod.
Sep 30 Sep 17,1793 - Nov 12,1793. Provides for wife Susanna.
To 4 sons, Jacob, John, Peter, & George 300 pounds which is
due from Martin Rothemel for the Plantation & Gristmill I sold
him. To each of my 9 children Jacob, John, Peter, George,
Anna Maria wife of Theobald HABERACKE, Susanna wife of Jacob
SMECK, Elizabeth W of Valentine BEYER, Catharine W of Adam
GERRET, & Magdalena. 200 pounds. Rem. at wifes dec. to above
9C. Sons Jacob, John, Peter, & George Extrs.
Witnessed by Johannes Printz & John Spyker.
To get an idea of the wealth of Jacob, log onto the
Colonial Williamsburg site for help with the conversion of
Pounds to dollars, and the pay scale of the times. What can be
found is that the average yearly wage for a craftsman during
this time period is 30 pounds. If one considers the fact that
Jacob sold a plantation and gristmill for 300 pounds, we can
see that the selling price is approximately 10 years wages.
We can also see that Jacob left a sum of 200 pounds to
each of his 9C. This total amounts to 1,800 pounds, or an
amount equivalent to 60 yrs wages. It is easy to see that
somehow, Jacob had accumulated a great amount of wealth.
