I am trying to find out my grandfather's family.
He was born in 1868 in Limerick, Ireland which is on my mother's birth certificate.

They were living around Croydon and Cloncurry, Queensland in the late 1890s early 1900s.

On the QLD bdm 1899/C1293 I found he was married to Ellen Howell which is correct.

Also on the QLD bdm he died 1919/C3617 and it states that his mother was Mary Hanley which I don't think is correct.

If I search family.org for William Foran I get he was born in Ireland in 1868 and his father was Patrick Foran and his mother was Bridget Quinn - see batch No: Co11896 which I think is correct.

The only other option I can think of is that there is another William Foran who died after 1919 that I don't have access to.

Could someone help me determine who was William Foran's mother Mary Hanley OR Bridget Quinn.

The problem is that there is only ONE William Foran born in Ireland in 1868 listed in family.org so I would suspect it is my grandfather.This William Foran parents were Patrick Foran and Bridget Quinn.

There is also a William James Foran (family.org) but that does not tie in as well as his parents were James Foran and Mary Cain.

I know my grandfather was born in Knockamoor County,Limerick, Ireland in 1868 as it is on my mother's birth certificate.

I cannot find a William Foran born in Ireland in 1868 with a mother's name of Mary Hanley anywhere.

Why not obtain the Foran/Howell marriage certificate to ascertain who the groom identified his parents?
