I am looking for marriage records for Lilian Cobb and Edmund Roethler abt 1921 to 1923 from Oelwein in Fayette County Iowa. Also baptismal info for Eugene Ruben Roethler (Ruben Eugene Roethler)born 4/21/1923 in Oelwin to Lilian and Edmund.

Thank you! This is a big help. Looks like we had Lily's last name misspelled. We've had so little to go on concerning her. She is my grandmother, but left the marriage and her infant son about 1924 or 1925. My father's birth certificate listed her maiden name as "Cobb" and I hadn't looked at alternative spellings yet, but will now. And with the actual marriage date I can send for their marriage certificate. Getting the church name is helpful as well. Lily (it's what my father called her) has always been a big mystery to us. This newspaper notice is a big deal for us.

I checked again this morning and could find only one additional item that would be of any interest to you. Other than one social column item that Lillian had gone to Decorah on business one day. I can add that one line item if you would like it. Otherwise, you can view the more important item which I have attached.

This is a big help. We knew about the divorce but the notice is helpful as to date and exact year. I really appreciate your help. Lily is a huge mystery and since my father never lived with her after the divorce, information is scarce. Supposedly, there was some Spanish background and she did her best to hide it, so the name issue is confusing. Thanks, again. This moves my research closer to nailing down her ancestry.
