Has anyone out there heard of the story of 6-7 Hughes brothers that came to America together from Wales. My grandfather told this to me, but did not give names, dates or places. If so, please relay the story to me...and if you have names, dates and places that they went after landing.

My grandfather was one of several brothers who came from capel Curig in the late 1880s. His name was Richard Williams and his father's name was Hugh. His mother's name was Elizabeth Williams. Does this ring a bell with you? Please let me know.

Kind regards

I've heard the story about the brothers from the Howard (moviestar) Hughes relatives, as well as from other Hughes lines that were not related.

There are many Hughes stories of immigrants from Wales,
Ireland, U. K., etc. Sometimes as these stories are handed down from generation to generation they become
more fiction than fact or at least can be documented.
Hughes & Related Families Int'l., Inc. was founded by
descendants of Orlando Hughes. Orlando came with bro-
thers Leander and William from Wales in 1690 to join
Uncle Jesse who arrived a few years earlier.
Visit our web site, hughes.genealogy.org and visit our
first families page. You will note that we have been able
to find many other immigrants. This was our goal to re-
search and preserve our history.
Hughes Families now has 240 members worldwide and growing each day. We publish a QT Newsletter and will be having
our 1st Nat'l. Reunion in Jackson, Tenn., July 9-10, 1999.

Although my Hugh(es) line doesn't appear to be related to this thread, lets not forget about John Hugh and family that came from Wales in 1698, settling in Gwynedd, PA.
