PRESTON, Idaho — Gary James Ratcliff, 57, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001, in Logan, Utah. He was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Southport, Australia, the son of Everett and Norma Bower Ratcliff. He married Diane Griffin on Sept. 28, 1985, in Logan, Utah.
He played professional baseball in his youth for the Washington Senators. He served his country during the Korean War as a helicopter mechanic and also during the Vietnam Era. He loved to fish and build engines.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Preston; and by a daughter, Hailey Ratcliff, also of Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Everett Ratcliff, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho with Pastor Jerry Stonehouse officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Gary's family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides at Wing 4 and 1 at the Sunshine Terrace Foundation for their kind and compassionate care during this very difficult time.
