Nancy was the daughter of John B. and Amy Smith Updike
nancy and John made their home in Greensburg, In in the late 1800's
John die 1845 and was born in Springfield Twp. Franklin Co.IND to Peter and Nancy Smith Updike
Peter is the son of Issac Updike and Issac is the son of Lawerence Updike. Lawerence is my DAR patriot.

Nancy sibling were Peter F., Martha J., Henry.

Issacca and his wife are buried in the Big Ceder Cem , Franklin Co,IN There are many updikes buried in this cemetery,

I am tracing the George W. Fromer (DOB abt. 1877) and (Mary) Margarett, nicknamed Maggie Level (DOB abt. 1881) line that I descend from. Picture of Maggie and her family here: http://betsywoodmartinez.tripod.com/fromer.html
They were married on Feb. 22,1898 in Decatur Co. I am told that George W. Fromer is the son of John Fromer (DOB abt. 1836)and Nancy Level (DOB abt. 1839)married on May 6, 1858 in Franklin Co. The John Fromer I am related to was a German Jew from Baden, Germany. A possible daughter is Mary J. Fromer (DOB abt. 1860). I have not confirmed that this is the correct John and his wife, but I do know they had a daughter besides their son, George W. Fromer. I am waiting for copies of the papers to arrive here in Mexico.

Thank You. This appears to be the correct John Frommer. I know that they ended up in Greensberg, Decatur Co. because George W. married and had his children there before he and Mary Margarett Level moved their children to Indianapolis. It is confusing when you only know a few same details and there are sooo many Fromers in the same area. I`m sure they are all related some way or there wouldn`t be so many. But I was just trying to get the basics before my parents pass on. I will dig futher in after I have the basics. This is a great start. Thank you soooo much. - Elizabeth Wood

I have had a computer crash and a virus, and lost some information including email from distant cousins. I need to regain a few pieces of info on the Nancy Updike side of the family. She married John Fromer on May 6, 1858 and they had a lot of children. I need the parent information on her, a little bit on her children´s familes wouldn´t hurt either. I am of the George W.
