My great grandfather - Alvin Buchanan was born at Great Bend, Pa. Jan. 2, 1859. Death was 4/5/1922 in McKean Co. His father's name was Urbane (1870 census he is 30 and lived in the Susquehanna County, Great Bend Twp.) Any information about either of these or relatives would be helpful. Please contact me.

I believe that Alvin's mother was Sally (Sarah) Ann Ackerman Arnold. My wife is descended from her daughter by Nathan Arnold, Caroline (Carrie) Arnold. You will see her in the 1860 census for Urbane on the second page just above Alvin. Alvin had half-brothers Amasa, Henry, Reuban Morse, Willard Rueben and Alonzo Arnold and also another half=sister Elizabeth Arnold. I would be glad to share whatever information I have.
