Please provide as much information as is possible re time-frame, maiden name if applicable, etc.

Unless parents are known, anyone born after 1875 will probably not be listed in book under his or her name.

My grandfather, was Isaac Caley, born 28 June 1866 in Daphin Co. He married Sarah Gerrard, 16 April 1896 in the Beaver CO. Courthouse, Beaver PA. Isaac died 15 Feb 1935 in New Brighton PA. He was the son od Samuel & Eliizabeth Caley.
It appears he may have been married before & if so, I would like to know to whom.
Did he have any brothers or sisters?
Also, I would like to know Samuel Caley's parents name.

Nothing in the book, but going through various censuses, this is what I found (Isaac was only married the one time, by the way, to Sarah Agnes Ger(r)ard, a daughter of Joseph (born Dec, 1832) and Eliza J. Ger(r)ard(born Dec, 1827).

1860 Conewago, Dauphin, census

Wilkensen Caley, 45 (all born in Pa)
Catharine, wife, 53
William, 24
Benjamin, 23
Samuel, 21
Susan, 19
Catharine, 17

Note: Benjamin Caley eventually married Margaret (surname unknown) about 1867 and had just the one child, Ellen Caley who was born in Feb, 1875 (Ellen married Samuel Bricker)
_______________________

1870 West Donegal, Lancaster, Pa

Wilkinson Caley, 57
Catharine, 64
Susan, 25

1870 East Donegal, Lancaster, Pa

Samuel Kaley, 30
Elizabeth, 30
Isaac, 2
________________________--

1880 Londonderry, Dauphin, Pa

Samuel Caley, 42
Elizabeth, 39
Albert, 7
Alice, 3

1880 Conewago, Dauphin, Pa

Isaac Caly, age 14, is working on the John and Lavina Gantz farm

Note: Albert Caley was born December, 1872 and about 1898 married Alice Nace (daughter of Levi Nace). She was born in May of 1883. By the 1900 census, they had 2 children George and Stella Caley.
Note: Alice Caley was born March, 1877 and married Joshua Berstier about 1897 and by the 1900 census had a daughter, Anna M. Berstier.
______________________

1900 Conewago, Dauphin, Pa census

Samuel Caley, born July, 1838
Lizzie, born Feb, 1841.
They say that they have been married 34 years and have just had the 3 children, all of whom survive (Isaac, Albert, and Alice)
__________________________

Isaac and Sarah Agnes are found in the 1900 - 1930 New Brighton Borough, Beaver, Pa censuses. The 1900 is -
Isaac Caley, born June, 1867 and married 4 years and have had 3 children, but just one survives, Beulah, born Nov, 1898. Sarah Agnes (going by the name Agnes) says she was born in Pa in March of 1870. By the 1910 census, they say they have been married 14 years and have had 8 children, only 4 of whom survive. Living with them is Agnes' widowed mother, Eliza J. Gerard, age 82, born Pa. The 4 surviving children living with them are:
Beulah, Inez, Janice, and Esther (eventually married a Mr. Beck). It is only in the 1930 census that Agnes calls herself Sarah A.(gnes)

A few other notes: Joseph Ger(r)ard apparently was a son James Gerrard (born 1805) and Jane Hayhurst. James Gerrard apparently was a son of Joseph Gerrard and Mary Witherspoon.

Elizabeth Kaylor was apparently a daughter of Joseph (born 1803 in Dauphin county-died 1878 in Dauphin) and Nancy Ann (Hoffer) Kaylor. Joseph and Nancy Ann had countless children, one of whom was son Tobias. Tobias and his new wife Elizabeth along with their new baby Ephraim, are found in the 1850 Mt. Joy, Lancaster, Pa census. Staying or visiting with them are Tobias' brother John (age 14) and sister Eliza (age 10). Tobias states in this census that he was born in Dauphin and that his wife, son and 2 siblings were born in Lancaster county. In the 1840 Mt Joy, Lancaster census is Joseph Keller with 9 children and by the 1850 Conewago, Dauphin census, he and wife Nancy have 9 children enumerated with them, 5 of which were born 'after' the 1840 census - so, in total, it seems they had about 14 children!!!

Hope all this information helps out

I forgot to say that I have the census for Alexander Hamilton Shrenk except for the 1860 census when he was an orphan. His parents John and Jane died in Ohio in 1857/58 and he went to live with relatives in PA sometime between then and 1870. Don't know where he was in 1860.
Alexander Hamilton Shrenk died February 19, 1935 and is buried in Harrisburg cemetary.

Thank you for the offer. I am researching the family of Thomas Franklin Bay b. 1856 and wife Ella. They had a daughter named Nellie b. 1885 in Dauphin Co., PA.

Any help or direction would also be appreciated.

Nothing about your Thomas Franklin Bay. There is a bio on a J.G. Bay, born 1831 in Maryland, a son of Thomas and Cenith Ann (McClure) Bay. He had a company, along with his brother William, called the Monaghan-Bay Shoe Company in Dauphin county.

Looking at the various censuses, I believe that your Thomas Franklin Bay was married 3 times.. According to the 1880 Jarrattsville, Harford, Maryland census, Franklin T. Bay, age 25, was married to Rebecca (a daughter of Robert and Mahala Arthur of Maryland). Their children were Henry (age 4 - abt 1876), Christian, age 2 (abt 1878) and Mary, age 3 months (aft 1880). Living with them is Franklin's mother-in-law, Mahala Arthur, aged 64.

In the 1900 Harrisburg census, we find:

Thomas F. Bay, born August, 1855 in Maryland of parents also born in Maryland.
Sarah J., wife, born March, 1869 in Pa of parents born in England. She states that she and Thomas F. have been married 7 years (1893?) and that 'she' has had 8 children of whom just 3 survive. (Sarah J. was married before she married Thomas F. Bay. She was first married to someone with the last name of Troup. Her parents were Isaiah and Ellen Pearson, both born in England. She and Thomas F. Bay eventually divorced, and she married a 3rd time to Samuel Cartwright of Harrisburg.)
Charles, son, born June, 1895
Martha, daughter, born Feb., 1898
Nellie M., born December, 1886 (obviously, this is the daughter of Thomas Franklin's first marriage)
Troup, John F., step-son, born Dec, 1889

By the 1910 census, Sarah J. Pearson Troup Bay has married her 3rd husband, Samuel Cartwright. By the 1920 Harrisburg census, Thomas Franklin Bay is living alone and says that he is divorced.

Hope all this helps out,

Sue

Is there any mention of Philip ENSMINGER, Peter PANCAKE or Joseph BRETZ or a MACHEN family?

Martin SHRENK married 7 MAR 1809 in the Salem Reformed Church in Harrisburg, PA to Anna MACHEN. The witnesses were Peter PANCAKE and Mrs. Joseph BRETZ. Anna's sister Elizabeth was wife of Peter PANCAKE and BRETZ is also related. Martin and Anna Shrenk's daughter, Elizabeth was wife of Phillip ENSMINGER of Harrisburg, PA.

I do appreciate the look-ups!
Thank you so much, bonnie
