My great grandparents John Baldwin DOB 1855-BOD 1919 & Hanna Baldwin DOB 1862 BOD 1919 are buried in a small cemetery in the Salmon Arm area, not MT. Ida cemetery. Iam looking for the name of the cemetery,I have info they are buried at MT.Ida cemetery but I think info might be wrong.

Hi, The filmed Registration of death - will show the name of the Funeral Home as well the Cemetery.

What makes you believe that John & Hannah BALDWIN may not be buried at the following Cemetery - Mount Ida?

From BC Cemetery Finding Aid:

BALDWIN, Hannah Maria (w/o John) Mount Ida Salmon Arm, Foothills Road High Country V&DFHS-403

BALDWIN, John (h/o Hannah Maria) Mount Ida Salmon Arm, Foothills Road High Country V&DFHS-403

Hi Stella
Thanks for the info.I have pics of graves my mother took it was in an area that was over grown & not taken care of.I remember looking in the cemetery but then found the graves in a different area. It looks like the graves are in the bush they were hard to get to. maybe it was part of the cemetery. The pics would have been taken in early 60's.

Do you have the death certificates? And do they say Mt. Ida? If not, I could check them out on Monday.

Hi Sherry,

Both death certificates indicate they are buried in the Salmon Arm Cemetery.

John Baldwin was born 12 Mar 1854 (64y10m10d). His father James was born in Suffolk and mother Eliza J. A. Woodworth born in Napanee, ON. He was a stone mason and farmer. They came to BC c 1913 coming from Wimbourne, Alberta. Hannah Maria Lapish was born in Bradford, Yorkshire 26 Jan 1855 to Thomas and Elizabeth Court. She and her family came to Canada c 1874.
