Hi Carole, I am looking for any siblings of Alfred Cook, born 1839 in SC; Married Sarah Jane Seay in Spartanburg, SC. Do you have any info on the siblings of your S.H. Cooke, and if so, would Alfred be listed as brother? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the offer. Any info that you have on Alfred Cook and the Cook family would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid that the only info that I have on the Johnson side is a Mary Jane Johnson that was born in 1877 and died in 1939. She was married to Steve Cook who was my husband's great grandfather. They had 6 children, 2 boys and 3 girls and then there was also a mention of a Corrie Cook who died at age 12 but we are unsure as to whether Corrie is a girl or boy because there is no mention of the gender in our records. Our branch of the Cook family has lived in the SC lowcountry area since the mid 1700's. I do have a GED file if you are interested.

Hi Katherine, I have been reading the info you posted concerning the Cooks in SC. I would love to exchange info. My gg grandfather was Alfred Cook who married Sarah J. Seay. Their daughter, my g grandmother was Gabriella Cook. I don't have my notes with me, but believe Alfred's father was Alexander Cook. One of Alfred's brothers was Jasper and another was Calvin. Please email me at kmcaston@bellsouth.net. I look forward to hearing from you.
