Yes, I use to live on Carriveau Rd. My parents live on the corner of Carriveau and Scott Rd in Alpena County. Yes the family name was and still is spelled Corriveau in Canada.

Christine, Thanks for the website address; I've been there often and that's how I found all these great relatives. I'm from Max & Ona (his father was Ralph & Virginia (Ducharme)) so this revealation has been so very interesting. I've also found a bunch of the Hamilton/Thornton/Haley/Averill family too! Appreciate your response. Hope to get to Harrisville this summer; haven't been up there in quite some time and I know it has changed. Have a good day and thanks again! Cousin, Sharon

Hey, you have cousins all over the place; some of us didn't stay in the area too long, and some of were born in Alcona County. Have a little info about many; not enough to brag about but willing to share.

Don't know if any of my relatives were born in Alpena County, but Ggrandmother was Marie Corriveau, m. David POULIN St Francis Beauce, Quebec around 1870's. Moved to Laconia NH around 1886, had 9 children. Just found a picture of Marie's headstone, the name is spelled CARRIVEAU, hadn't seen that spelling before, thought it was an error on the headstone....maybe not?

Would love to find and hear from any distant relatives, these names ring any bells?

Hi! Just to tell you that the name is originaly Corriveau.
All the other ways of spelling it is due to the difficulty
of writing this name by the english speaking person and some times by members of this family to look more American.

In the same time, your GGrandmother Marie-Aurelie Corriveau maried David Poulin on nov 10, 1873 at St-Everiste de Forsyth, Beauce, Quebec.
