Looking for John Gallagher b. 1825 IRE Farm of Wexford a stone mason immigrated 1850 NY family stopped in Cleveland OH Ended up living in Mackinac MI as seen in Census 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900 (Sarah a widow w/son, Anthony)
married 1850 Sarah McCarty b. June 1830 Co Mayo IRE
9 children:
1. John Gallagher b. 1852 m. Margaret lived in Cleveland OH on 1880 census all children born in OH
2. Bridget Gallagher b. 1853 m. Thomas Corrigan lived in Cleveland OH thru 1910 census Bridget widow age 57
3. Tommy Gallagher b. 1855 m. Mamie Hermon
4. James Gallagher b. 1857
5. Anthony Gallagher b. 1859 single, lived in Mackinac MI thru 1930 census single age 70
6. Kate Gallagher b. 1860 m. John Early lived in Mackinac MI thru 1920 census
7. Sarah Gallagher b. 1862 m. Ralph Sellew Franks lived in Mackinac MI thru 1910 census
8. Maria "Belle" Gallagher b. 1864 dec. 1949
9. Hellen "Nellie" Gallagher b. 1871 m. O'Seary lived in Mackinac MI in 1900 census can't find after that
I figure there must have been other family in Cleveland OH because some of the children moved back to Cleveland to settle with their wives and children.

I'll keep this in my notes. My Edward immigrated in 1803 to Wooster, Wayne, OH from Donegal. Not terribly far from Cleveland. Some of his descendants ended up in various areas of Ohio. Some I have been unable to trace.

I'm looking for James Galagher born around 1855 who married Mary (last name unknown). They are listed in the Belmont County Ohio Census of 1880 and had a son William age 10 months. Could my James be the son listed as one of the children you listed (James b. 1857)? Thanks for your help!

My GG Grandfather was John L. Gallagher, born in Michigan ca. 1851. He came to Cleveland sometime between 1870 and 1880. I believe he is the son of John Gallagher and Sarah McCarty.
John L. (1851-1916) married Margaret Lynch (1855-1898) and they had 4 children. John Vincent, Mary L., Joseph Patrick, and Sarah. My G Grandfather was Joseph Patrick Gallagher (1880-1908) who was killed in a fall from a smokestack he was cleaning a month before my Grandmother Mildred was born. He was married to Sarah Lally (1884-1951)
