I am seeking assistance in finding the gravesite of John Phillip Sharrett/Sharrits/Sharitz. He moved his family to Knox County c. 1819 to a farm hoe had bought on the West Fork of Flat Creek from Christian Foust. Before 1821 John died, and I assume he was burried there. His wife and children moved back to Sullivan County. His brothers Conrad Sharrett Jr. and Henry Sharrett (later Sherrod) also moved to Knox County about this same time. According to early maps I have looked at, this area may now be Grainger Co.
The brothers remained in Knox County.

I am also searching these names in VA nad TN.
I have started the Stephen Sharits family (b-1811d-1896 in KS) He and his wife Susannah (Susan) had 11-12 children. I have found the last name spelled in many ways. Some were born in VA and TN.

Yes, Stephen and Susannah Sharitz were my GG-grandparents.
I was born in Newton, KS were Stephen & Susan died.
The family settled on the spelling "Sharits" finally.
But Stephen and Susan had 12 children as far as I know.
My Scherertz family came from Germany, MD, PA, VA, TN, KS, AZ.
Are you from the Nancy Ann Sharits Wilson line?
Would like to hear more.

Kay:
Charles Winston Sharits married my g-g-mother's sister, Verda Elsie Carter. She would be my Grand Aunt. Charles's father was James Winton Sharits, his father was Stephen Sharits and his father was Daniel Sharetts/Sharitz/Sharits from VA and PA. The SHARITS & CARTERS are from VA/TN/NC/KS.
I have 15 or so pages of information on the SHARITS families and more on the Carter family. I would be more than happy to mail it to you.

My family also comes from Daniel to Stephen to David Fleming Sharits to Thomas Eugene Sharits. I wondered if anyone knew for certain where Daniel came from. I have just started gathering information on the many lines of my parents families. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

It is believed that Daniel was born in MD or PA
His father may be Christopher or Daniel, but records of these two are hard to find, Grandfather was Arnholtz, Arnold; I believe that Daniel's brother was John Sharrots that went to OH, or a very close cousin.
The Sharitz (spelled many ways) came from Rhineland, Pflaz-Zweibrucken, Prussia, US records show them in York Co., PA
and then VA, TN and on to other states, OH, KS etc. I am from the KS clan. Thomas Holt Sharitz/Sharits.

Janine,

I found your family tree containing the Henry R. Anderson and Julia Blay family.
We are from the her side side Florence, I would be very interested in finding more about her descendant.
