Joseph (born 1842) and Cynthia Cole Watson were my 2nd great grandparents. I was born on their son John's farm in Magoffin Co. KY. John married Lou Adams, their daughter, Dollie, was my grandmother. Her daughter Magdaline is my mother. We live in IN. I have a copy of Joseph's death certificate which says James Watson, born in VA, was his father and Nancy Cole was his mother. I've gone back home several times and visited the Watson cemetery where he and Cynthia are buried. Their daughter, Nancy, is there with her husband also. I found a James Watson involved with John Cole's will in VA. John married Isabell Montgomery and after her husband's death, she brought her children to KY. Their son John Cole married Caty Minix. They had Cynthia who married Joseph, One of Cynthia's sisters, Melissa, also became one of my grandmothers. Hope this helps a bit. Are you related to others in that area? I too am a descendent of Joseph Watson, but by way of his older son Asberry, born 1861. I am so pleased to find the names of Joseph's parents here, because no one else in my family knew (or would say) and we had a "hole" in our family tree that I'm hoping to help fill up.
