My grandfather was George Henry Stanley of Emmet co. His father was Eber A. Stanley who is listed in the civil war graves. Granddad had a brother Perry another brother who died in his 20's and may have had other siblings. I can't find anything on the web about this family and any info would be greatly appreciated.

Eber A. Stanley was the Farher of my Great Grandmother Mary Rosalia Stanley Swartout. Married Edwin A. Swartout.

The Eber A. Stanley that was my greatgrandfather was a civil war vet and he is listed as buried in Greenwood cemetary in Emmet county,in Petoskey,Michigan. His wife was Mary Wilson,not Abigail unless he had two. I know he had two sons,my grandfather George Henry and Perry. They both resided in Petoskey,Michigan.Whether there were other children I don't know. Betty

I recently found an antique social security card made of metal with the name george henry stanley stamped in it. It also has the SS# stamped in it. It was found in the Petoskey area. if youm have an interest in this item please respond.

Also there is a Stanley family reunion every year usually up by Petosky if you are intested in the contact person for that let me know.

Do you happen to have any info on Mary (Wilson) Stanley she has such a common name it is hard to find any information on her, but I am very interested in finding more information about her and about your line of Stanley family.

Mary Elizabeth WILLSON was born on 14 Sep 1850 in Carcuce (Syracuse ?), Onondaga Co., NY, U.S.A.She died on 9 Apr 1905 at the age of 54 in Petoskey, Emmet, MI, U.S.A. She was buried on 11 Apr 1905 in Greenwood Cemetery, Petoskey, Emmet Co., MI, U.S.A.
