Does anyone know who her parents are? 1920 census has her parents were born in Virginia. She married Henry or Emil Miller and had two daughters, Mary Roberta b1884 d11972 and Pauline.

I can't promise a link here, but my great-great grandfather married a woman named Mary A. Miller. It may be the same Mary A. Miller you mention. She was born in March 1852 and died September 1917, I believe. Her husband was William Henry Clarridge, from Virginia originally. They lived in DC.

I am also related to BIRCH (my current family and grandfather and great grandfather -- all from DC area:

Philip W. Birch (b. 5/1858) married to Jessie Lavina Moore (b. 11/1865)

Wilbur Griffith Birch
Wilbur Everett Birch
Platt Hodges Birch
Clayton G. Birch
Jessie Birch Matthews

If you think there may be a connection, please let me know.

I dont' know if there is a connection. Isabelle Birch had two sisters that I know of : Mary and Cora. Maybe a brother , James and another possible sibling . Mary Birch married George Metz. Cora Birch married John C. Metz who went by Collie. Mother of Isabelle, Cora , Mary, James, and unknown may have been Mary born in Virginia. Father unknown and children not sure where he was born from different census years. Could be DC, Va, or Md. I can only find them in DC from 1900 -1930. I know James Birch moved to Prince George's C0., Md. in 1920 Census. If this is your family, please email me at RJoy241660@aol.com. Thank you

I am not able to confirm a link, but don't give up on a possible connection because I have too many "holes" to fill in the Birch files...

Here are the Birch's I know -- most lived in Maryland (PG County in Hyattsville area) and some in DC, particularly the older generations...

Philip W. Birch (b. 1858) lived in DC with wife, Jessie Lavina Moore (b. 1865). Jessie is buried at Ft. Lincoln Cemetary in Bladensburg, MD. Philip's father was born in Virginia, his mother in DC. Jessie's parents were both born in DC.

Philip and Jessie had five children: Platt Hodges Birch (July 1886 - January 1930); G. Clayton Birch (July 1888 - ??); Wilbur Griffith Birch (my great-grandfather born November 2, 1884 - September 1966); Angnus Birch (female, January 1900 birth, no more info on her); and Jessie Birch (May 1892 with married name of Matthews).

If you think any of these are related, possibly, let's chat!!!!

Sorry, I can't make a connection either other then James Birch moving to PG Co. in 1920 Census. His wife was Emma and a daughter, Goldie b. May 1899. I will research PG Co. to see if they lived there anytime and will keep you in mind. Happy searching! Thank you

My grandfather was James Arthur Birch. Lived in Lorton, Va. at the time of his death. His second wife was my grandmother Iva Virginia Hall. They had several children; my mother Mary Virginia Birch, my uncle Edward Harrison Birch, Arthur who drowned at 12 years of age and one stillborn. Does any of this sound familiar:

My grandfather was James Arthur Birch and what caught my attention was his sisters. Aunt Cora and Aunt Mamie (Mary E.) I had heard that they may have been from St. Mary's, Md but this makes me think that I have the right family. I still have photos of Aunt Cora and Aunt Mamie. Do you have any information on any of these folks. Both girls married brothers with last name Metz (George and Collie?) I would love to hear from you.
