I'm looking for information about the Lassow family in Baghdad. Have Kamil Lassow (ne Marmarchi) and husband Fram Lassow. The family are Catholic and used to live by the river. Immediate family members left Baghdad in the 60's. Any other info?

hi...I am part of a Lassow family....My dad`s name is Shawqi Lassow, he came to the uk when he was 16...he has 4 sisters..his mum died about 5 years ago..his dad`s name was Fram..they were originally from baghdad..we live in kent uk now and his sisters live around london uk..

I'm living in Bristol at the moment doing my PGCE in FE. I've been teaching/lecturing for five years, two in China, and am trying to get more established in Britain, hence the PGCE. My brother John lives in Slough and I tend to pop home to Andover every few weeks. I took mum and dad to see Betty just before Christmas - I willingly act as taxi driver now - as she's in Hampshire. I can remember meeting your sister Miranda when I was about 13 but we've only just had more contact withe the rest of the family - mum is terrible about staying in touch...

My Mum is a decendant of the lassow family, who moved over to the UK in the 1950's from Iraq, her dad lived in Baghdad, and from what I know owned a ice factory there. She is 1 of 13 childrena, all were born in Baghdad/Basra.

I am Adel, member of the Lassow family originaly from Iraq, your grand father Fram is my dad's uncle.
Fram is Nouri Lassow's brother whom is my grandfather.
My uncles are Alfred and Stanly, My father and uncle Alfred still lives in Baghdad while my uncle Stanley lives in Florida, all my aunts (13 members) some were deseased others live in UK, USA, Holland.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, we are family and my mum often talked about her uncle Nouri and so I think your dad ,Alfred and Stanley were her cousins. I hope they are all ok in Baghdad.

Unfortunately, I have bad news to pass on as my mum, Eleanor, passed away in April. It was all very sudden and mum was youngish-71 - so we are still quite traumatised and I miss her very much. Her brother Shawqi(Joe) and sisters Betty, Solange and Primrose are still alive. Mum was buried in the same cemetry outside Andover as her mum, Kamil, my grandma. Primrose is in the US and I spoke to her when all this happened .The others are fine and because of all this ,I have been spending more time with my cousins.

My name is Sandy, my dad is Shawqi and he lives in kent. I have 4 other sisters, Paulette, Geraldine, Amanda and Miranda. My dad talks alot about Nouri but I didnt know about you. My dad wasn't sure if Nouri was still alive.. Are you in the UK?

Glad to know that we have a family abroad, Nouri my grandfather passed away long time ago (1974) while living in the UK, my grandmother passed in 1990, My dad Roger, uncle Alfred are still living in Baghdad while my eldest uncle Stanley moved last year to Florida.
I am living in Lebanon since 1995, while my two sisters Lamia and Janan with my father in Baghdad. My oldest sister Lydia moved to Ohio-US last year with her husband and son.

hello! this is Marie and Caroline, Betty's daughters having a very nice Christmas here in the south of france. We were grilling our mother about her ancestors and managed to find this site. Betty is the daughter of Fram and Kamille Lassow. We would love to find out if the Lassow family ancestry in Iraq - is it still in business is anyone in contact with the cousins there?
