Does anyone have any information on a James George that would have been born in the 1800. It is believe that he married or had children with a lady names "Kate" or Katherine on Anegada. Any information would be appreciated. This would be my GreatGrandfather.

I have written you before, just wanted to remind you that the almost all the George families of the BVI (those on Tortola, Jost Van Dyke & Anegada, etc.) and many in the USVI are the children of the original George family from Virgin Gorda. My own ggg grandparents are Adam and Ann George from the North Sound area. http://www.viaccess.net/~mmarrero

Keep in touch - we might be related.

I am trying very hard to make the connection. I recently learned that my mother's grandmother had George siblings and I have been able to trace them but I have still not been able to trace my father's George. I see that his grandfather came from Virgin Gorda and his name was James George but still no other family connection. Still searching.

Hello,

I have been trying to do a family tree for a long time and have been very unsuccessful in finding information.
My great grand parents Adela Nelson and Alton George married and had kids. I assume that they are from BVI, but I am not positive. From that marriage they had the following kids: Thomas George, Ivan George (deceased), Edna George (born in St Thomas married name change to Edna Callwood...died Sept 2011) Ines O'neal (was a george) and Alpheous George (died as well). If you any of this rings a bell please give me a shout at (copi28@yahoo.com). I gave up on ancestry since I was unsuccessful.

Alpheous and possibly Ivan George ring bells for me. Where was Alpheous from? I recently learned of that name in my family history.

I am not at all versed in my George family. I recently learned that my mother's grandmother had about 15 George brothers and sisters though she was a Creque. They were all my aunts and uncles because they were related to her. Also, I am a George from my father's side but I do not know them at all. I traced as far as Virgin Gorda and found that my ggrandfather was James George and that he was born on Virgin Gorda. I have not found any of his family so I really do not know my George family on my father's side. They went to Macoris and we are the one that have returned so I really do not know the George family.

I see, Its pretty unfortunate. In those times there was alot of moving..I guess because of work. What I can tell you is that grandfather "Thomas George" was born somewhere either in the US Virgin Islands or in Santo Domingo. Because most of my family speaks Spanish. Now thats a loop to throw in
