My maiden name is Lisa Powers I am the daughter of Robert James Stephen Powers of Barrie, ON. My grandmothers name was Muriel Priscilla Powers (Wing). My grandfathers name was James Allen Powers of Toronto. I have information that may help you with the family tree.

Muriel Powers was born Muriel Priscilla Wing. Her date of birth was March 19th, 1913. I am not sure of her place of birth. Her fathers name we think was Horace Wing and we think he may have been born in Detroit USA. Her mothers name was Martha Marshal not sure if spelt with one or two l's at the end of it. We think she may have been born or lived in Kingston ON. Muriel Powers had one sister named Gladys Wheeler (Wing). Gladys had a daughter named Laurel Stevenson we think Laurel may live in Toronto Island area or Beaches area. Muriel Powers (Wing) had two brothers one of the brothers names was Gordon Wing. Gordon Wing was in the AirForce and we know he lived in Hollywood Florida. We are not sure of her other brothers name at this time but will look it up and post it at a later date. Muriel Powers (Wing) was raised in the Beaches area of Toronto. She is buried at Holy Cross Cemetary in Thornhill, ON. My uncle Edward Allen Powers is also just recently deceased this last April and is buried with his mother Muriel at Holy Cross Cemetary.

My grandfather James Allen Powers was born Aug 12th, 1908 in Peterborough (Keene, ON). He worked for the Toronto Stock Exchange and in the Insurance Industry from what my father can remember. He had one sister Margaret Wright (maiden name Powers). Margaret had no children. James and Margaret's parents were James Powers and Mary Lamey we think both of Ireland. They owned a boarding/rooming house in Toronto on Balmutto Street across from the Shea's Theatre. There is a graveyard up in Hastings ON where alot of the Lamey side is buried. My father thinks it may be called St. Marys Cemetary. Mary Lamey had a sister named Anne McCarthy who lived in Toldo Ohio. My father remembers visiting her as a child. I will try to find out more information and post it when I can. I would love to hear from any relatives regarding family tree information. Please e-mail me. I was so shocked when I checked my e-mail today to see a message from you. It was great to get your reply. I have been working on the Powers/Wing/Marshall family tree for awhile now.

I found some old negatives that my Dad had in an envelope he thought they were negatives from when he and Uncle Eddy were in the Navy. Well I started going through them and found some really old negatives of when your Dad and my Dad and Uncle Eddy and Uncle Steve were just little. I had Blacks send them away and I got about 1/2 of them developed. I still need to get the others done which I was planning on doing next month.

I would love to send you copies and also your Dad as I am sure your family would love to see them.

I also have hit a dead end on some areas of the family tree and I was wondering if your Dad would know any info.

My parents have pictures of you in there photo album.

I believe your Mary Lamey is my great aunt - she is the daughter of John Lamey and Margaret Heffernan. She was born in 1881. Ann Lamey was born in 1894. She (Ann) visited us in the 1960-1965 timeframe - I'm pretty sure she was visiting the old farm (that she was born on). As of about 1990, the last time I was out there, the farm was still in Lamey hands (it looks like one of the craters on the moon, but hey - they must have made some kind of a living on it).
