Your John
Carrico b. 1804 was son of Alexander (AKA John A.) Carrico & Mary
Sedgwick who married in
Montgomery Co., MD in Jan. 1800.
In 1800 Alexander "Callico" is living in
Montgomery Co., next door to his father-in-law, William
Sedgwick. By 1810 Alexander & family are found in
Fayette Co., PA, where they "remained a year" according to the BIO of Alexander & Mary's son Henry C.

before moving to OH (where son James was born ca. 1813/14) remaining "two years" before arriving in
Washington Co., KY in time for the 1820 census. By 1830 Alexander & Henry are in
Casey Co., your John is in
Adair Co. nearby the Wethingtons. 1840 census lists Alexander, John, Henry & James all in
Casey Co.
Sometime before the 1850 census, Alexander moved to
Martin Co., IN where he joined his daughter Elizabeth & her husband Felix
Miles. In this census he is called John A. Carrico, his wife Mary Ann, & has his daughter Alice & son "
Alexis" with him and next door is his daughter
Harriet with husband Henry Able & their daughter Lavina.
Meanwhile, John, Henry & James are still in
Casey Co., KY, but at least John & children (wife Susanna is deceased by 1860) join the others in
Martin Co., IN soon after the census as on March 16 1851 John & Susan (
Wethington) Carrico's daughter Elizabeth married David
Fields in
Martin Co., IN.
John A. (AKA Alexander) Carrico's will was recorded in
Martin Co., IN 1856. I will post the transcript that was sent to me some time this weekend to this board. I also have information on his son
Alexis estate in 1859 which I'll post. Since
Alexis was unmarried when he died, his siblings and/or their children all rec'd a portion. This helps to confirm that John A. Carrico & Alexander
Carrico were one & the same man.
Your Richard F. Carrico married Eliza
Clements d/o
Basil Clements April 28, 1857.
Meanwhile, John
Carrico b. 1804 married the widow Mary E. Burch nee
Queen, d/o Joseph
Queen May 31 1862 in
Martin Co. & moved with his new family to neighboring
Daviess Co., IN by the 1870 census, where there were 3 additions to John's family, James
Carrico age 7, Susan
Carrico age 5 & Michael age 2.
You'll have to bear with me right now, my hard drive crashed before Christmas & I'm still in the process of recording again a lot of information. I had found your Richard in IL, but need to transcribe all of the information again. I do have a great many more details for you, but most are in the paper stacks about my desk at the moment due to losing my hard drive. Meanwhile, I hope this helps?
BTW, my ancestor is Alexander & Mary's son Henry C. Carrico. At this point, we do not know who Alexander's parents were, but I am working on it :-)
