Looking for info on Rolen or Robin Thrift that was born abt 1848 in Alabama. He was on the 1900 Navarro, Tx census next door to Saly Thrift (who was the widow of Homer Thrift). He is also on the 1910 Hill, TX census. He had children named Travis, Curtis, Jewell and Ella on the 1910 census. His wife is Marsa on the 1900 and Maggie on the 1910 census. I'm trying to find out if they were kin to Homer Thrift.
Thanks,

Yep, they must be related; I hope someone can show how. Just for reference, there's some info on Rolen here in Bob Jensen's data:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thriftzzfr...

This is probably irrelevant, but just based on the name alone I was wondering if Rolen is related somehow to Rolley
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thriftzzfr...
Rolley has a son named Charley H. Thrift. Pure coincidence?

You are saying that Homer is "unknown Thrift" listed here:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thriftzzfr...
However after making that document, Bob informed me that "Unknown Thrift" was William Spencer Thrift, based on this comment alone, I think:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/thrift/messages/7.html
"My grandmother, Bessie Thrift Ferguson, b. 1886 in Lincoln, AL (Calhoun County) was the daughter of William Spenser Thrift and Sarah Elizabeth Griffin Thrift. She had brothers named Fred, Homer and Dean. About the mid-1890s her father died and the family moved to Forreston, Texas. In the 1930s/1940s one of her brothers owned Thrift Oil & Tool Co., in Alice, Texas. Dean and Fred lived in Corpus Christi, Texas in the 1930s/19040s. Fred owned an oil-related business there, and Dean worked for the city water department. If this sounds like someone in your line, please contact me. "

So is "unknown Thrift" William Spencer, or Homer? Could the original poster (Bob Ferguson) have been mistaken about William Spencer? If Unknown Thrift IS William Spencer, then you have a pretty good clue as to Rolen's ancestors. What is the evidence that his name is Homer?

Regards
Richard Thrift
