Where would I find birth & marriage records for Galeana Chihuahua?
My maternal grandfather was born in Galena around 1877.
His name was PRESCILIANO MARQUEZ
married my grandmother, Felisa SANCHEZ, viuda de COTA.

I found that my great-grandmother, Adela Flotte, was a native of Galeana. She was born abt. 1839. Any information as to how I may get birth/marriage/baptismal records, etc. would be appreciated.

The Mormons are the first source of info. If you wish to visit Chihuahua and personally copy documents, it may be difficult. Many factors play into retrieving info especially if certain families don't want to share mining rights or inheritences with American cousins. Good luck.

HE MARRIED ANTONIA CASTILLO AND BECAME THE PARENTS OF FRANSISCO JAVIER CHAVEZ CASTILLO. THE SON WAS BORN AROUND 1762, IN PARRAL, CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO. IN 1764, ANOTHER SON WAS BORN- JOSE ANTONIO CHAVEZ CASTILLO.
FRANSISCO JAVIER CHAVEZ CASTILLO MARRIED MARIA JOSEFA CABALLERO. THEY BECAME THE PARENTS OF JESUS JOAQUIN CHAVEZ CABALLERO, WHO WAS BORN AROUND 1791.
JESUS JOAQUIN MARRIED CONCEPCION CARMEN VALDEZ AND HAD SEVERAL CHILDREN OF WHOM ONE WAS MANUEL CHAVEZ VALDEZ. ANOTHER OF THE SEVEN CHILDREN WAS JOSE GABRIEL CHAVEZ VALDEZ.
I AM TRYING TO GET THE CORRECT BIRTH DATES FOR BOTH SPOUSES. HOPEFULLY, I CAN GET THE PARENTS OF FRANSISCO XAVIER CHAVEZ. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE MORMONS, IN SALT LAKE CITY HAVE THE ONLY RECORDS, UP TO THE 1600S.

Read your posting and was curious about your connection to the Maynez family of either Hidalgo de Parral or Valle de Allende. Jesus Maynez (1840-1908) was my great great grandfather who served under General Baizan during the French occupation of Mexico. His family still resides in Clermont-Ferrand in southern France. Please advise on your relationship to these Maynez.

Also looking for information on Maynez from Villa de Allende, Chihuahua.
