My ggf, Minor Jackson Deason, b. Jan 29, 1829, died in 1893 in Texas had connections to Freestone Co. I have been searching for the name of his father for over 30 years. His son, my gf, Earnest Linwood Deason, and the brother of Earnest, Amos Beri Deason, married Claudia Surratt of Glen Rose and the Deason family were in and out of that County. Do you have any connection to them?

Oops...just after I sent the first email the surname Deason rang a bell. I do have a Deason family connected to a Markham Family in Limestone Co Texas. In the l880 Limestone Census in the household of Carroll Markham is a William Deason, age 40, born Tenn, parents from Tenn. In a household next door is Martha Deason, age l4 yrs born Tx. She is in household of James H. Markham, brother to Carroll. Carroll Markham found in l850 in Talobusha Co Miss. Jane...I don't have a whole lot of info on the Deason family. I do know the Deasons were related to a Markham family from Noxubee Co Miss....they finally ended up in Limestone Co Texas.

In the l880 census of Limestone Co Texas in the household of Carroll Markham was William Deason, born l834 in Tenn. Next door in the household of James H. Markham (son of Carroll) was a Martha Deason, born l866 in Texas.

The Markham family were apparently from Tenn...moved to Alabama, to Miss and then to Texas. You might want to write to Ruby Schmidt, 4204 Mojave Dr., Granbury, Texas 76049 as she is a direct relative to the Markhams and the Deasons. If you email me a kuland177@cs.com I might be able to come up with more information on the Deasons. I am not directly related to the Markhams or Deasons so have not done a whole lot of research. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY TO MY ? ON THE DEASON FAMILY. MY GRANDFATHER DEASON CAME FROM GERMANY, BUT DO NOT KNOW WHEN. HE WAS TALL BIG BONE MAN, WITH LIE HAIR AND BLUE EYES. MAMAW DEASON WAS A VERY SMALL FRAME PERSON WITH DARK HAIR AND DARK BLUE EYES. THEY BOTH WERE VERY ARTISTIC.PAPAW DEASON WAS A CABINET MAKER.HE DID LOTS OF HAND CARVED ITEMS. MAMAW MADE TINY DOLL HOUSE ITEMS AND THE ONE I REMEMBER THE MOST WAS A SMALL CHURCH, WHEN YOU LOOKED IN THE DOOR YOU COULD SEE ALL THE LITTE HAND CARVED POUES AND HAND STAINED GLASS WINDOWS,PAPAW PUT ELECT.IN SO IT WOULD LITE UP THE STAIN GLASS WINDOWS.I COULD GO ON AND ON, THEY WERE VERY LOVING AND GENTAL PEOPLE.
