Hi all
Does anyone recognise the following family
Nigel John Graham b.1890 Bolton England
Laura Jessie Graham (nee Morton)b.1890
John Graham b.1911
James Graham b.1913
Jessie Graham b.1915
John Graham b.1911
They arrived in Australia from England in 1923 and settled in the Rockhampton area.
Jessie married Stephen Augustus Dobbin in St.Barnabus Church.
If you recognise these folks please contact me. I am especially keen to find the grave of Nigel John Graham
Regards
Dave

Hi There,

Have found a couple by the name of Graham: Nigel John & Jessie Laura in the 1930 Australian Electoral Rolls 1901-1936.
They were registered as living in Styx, St Lawrence, Capricornia, QLD.

Nigel was a coalminer
Jessie did Home Duties.

Are these your Grahams?

Hi again,

I have found a James & Annie Graham living in Edmonton, Gordonvale, Herbert, QLD...which would be near Innisfail, QLD
He was a Labourer
She noted as doing Home Duties.

1930 Australian Electoral Rolls 1901-1936

Are these yours as well

I have also found in the 1936 Australian Electoral Roll:

James Graham: Styx River, St Lawrence, Capricornia, QLD: Coal Minor
Jessie Laura Graham: Styx, St Lawrence, Capricornia, QLD
John Graham: Styx, St Lawrence, Capricornia, QLD

These could be mother (Jessie)
Son (James)
Son (John)

So if that is the case....maybe Nigel John Graham died between 1930-1936 in the Styx, St Lawrence region.

Maybe someone might be able to search buriel records for that time and area.

Hello
A big thankyou for that information, a big clue. I have made an enquiry with the local family history society with regard to seeing if anyone can help me track a death in that area for Nigel.
I am very greatful for your help.
Thanks
David Graham

I think I am the grandson of Nigel John Graham. My father was John Graham, who was a miner at Ogmore. We moved our house in Ogmore to Wynnum when the mine closed.

Regards
Gary Nigel Graham

I don't think it is the same Nigel John Graham as I think it is my Grandfather as my mother was Jessie Graham and she was his daughter.

Oh, I thought it might be the same family, as I have a book on the anniversary of Ogmore School. John, James and Jessie are listed as students in 1924. Nigel Graham, their father, was on the school board.

Ogmore is north of Rockhampton, on the Styx River.

John was born in Bolton, Lancashire in 1911.

Nigel, Laura and their children, John, James and Jessie migrated to Australia in 1923.

My parents are John Graham and Mary Veronica Gleeson. My father worked in the mine at Ogmore until it closed around 1948.
