Hi,
I'm in search of people in Israel with the surname Kawas/z with both the s or z who are either Jewish, Christian or Moslem. I'm currently carrying out research on the family name and on the history that lies beyond the name , its origin and relationship among the different families who carry this ancient name. Any infomation will be greatly appreciated. May the Creator Bless You all! Thanks. researching the history of this name.

Re: in search of KAWAS' or KAWAZ'
I have a second cousin named Wadia Kawas. She was the daughter of Louisa Shagawat (my great aunt) and Jabra Sarra of Aleppo Syria, and married a Kawas in Brooklyn NY. Does this name ring a bell?

Re: in search of KAWAS' or KAWAZ'
hello nicola, sorry im answering til now. I havent visited this site since 2000 and today just by chance i found it again. my grandpa was Moses Kawas and he moved to honduras after his brothers antonio and others. Thanks God i was able to go to bethlehem in 2000 and found a relative you might know, she's a kawas from her mom's side, asfour. are you related to this kawas family? all i know is that my grandpas father was called selim and her mom Milade Kawas. are you a descendant of one of his brothers, or cousins or extended family. I guess that the kawas family from bethlehem at the end might all be related.thanks for your info. hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, enrico
