from a transcribed list (Ohio citizenship records), I have learned that our ancestor (Josef Martin Isenrich: 1854-1932 from Switzerland)left Antwerp on 03/07/1880 and arrived in New York on 03/07/1880. After a lot of research, I still cannot find any documentation as far has his leaving Europe, nor his entering the US. I also cannot find a ship neither leaving nor arriving on the days mentioned. - And he also does not show up in the 1880 US census either. Only from 1883 on I can find him in Cincinnati.
Does anyone have a suggestion how I might find him during 1880?

Thank you for your answer.
I had tried many variations of our name before but nothing came up as matching.

Thanks again,
Hanny
