In 1972, I received a letter asking for a will or death record for:
Mark Castleberry, who died March 25, 1843.
Appears on the 1840 Forsyth County GA Census
Wife Keren Happuch Brodgon. Eight children.
Meredith, Mary, Elender, Keren, Elizabeth, Gatsy, Nancy, and William.
Also:
Odom Castleberry (Odin, Odean, Odum, and Odam)
Age 60-70 on the 1840 Forsyth County Census.

There is a will for Mark Castleberry, dated 10 May 1834 but entered in the will book in 1843. It mentions some of the children in the above list.
Witnessed by Odean Castleberry, Sarah Tallant and David Tallent. It is on the bottom half of page 254 and the top half of page 255 in Book A - Wills and Estates.

The will of Odean Castleberry made 31 Mar 1841 is on page 4 of the Ledger covering May Term 1844.
Executors: William Castleberry
B. W. Castleberry
Timothy Castleberry
Henry Tedder
David Putman

Heirs: wife Margaret in her widowhood
at her death or remarriage divided among my children to their satisfaction if not equally divided.
Children: Mark Castleberry
David Castleberry
Sarah Tedder
Liry Putman
John Castleberry
Odum Castleberry
William Castleberry
Benjamin W. Castleberry
Timothy Castleberry
Witnesses:
William Heath

David Tallent, Sr.
These records are in the Probate Court, Forsyth County Courthouse, Cumming GA 30040.

(Note: I think this Mark and Odom were brothers and that the Mark in Odom's will was his uncle's namesake.)
Mark's marriage to Karen is on file in Hall County, GA if memory serves.

I am looking for information on a John Castleberry who would lived in Georgia. He fought in the Cival War and named his son John Robert Castleberry (robert after robert lee) John Robert moved to Alabama- Covington County at the age of twelve. He had at least one brother who later moved to Alabama and one sister- I believe the sister was older and possibly gave birth to an illigitamite baby. Thank You

Don't know if this will help, but here goes. There are Castleberrys in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. . I know they were related somewhere back to Robert E. Lee. I married William Hayden Castleberry and had a son & we named him Robert Lee Castleberry after the old relative... Robert E. Lee. There are Castleberrys buried in Tishomingpo County....some in the Rutledge-Salem cemetary and some in another cemetary closer to Iuka, Mississippi. {My father in law was Lucian Castleberry and mother in law was Ila Faye Edmondson Castleberry. Lucian's dad is buried in Tishomingo County in one of these cemetaries I listed.
My husband was William Hayden Castleberry and he has a sister Virginia Castleberry Jones who still lives in Tishomingo County. Hope this helps someone.

I have an Unknown Castleberry who married an Unknown Williams. I have the Unknown Castleberry as a son of Guy Wadie Castleberry (b. 09-18-1900, d. 07-1994)and Ada Azalee Hope (b. 08-03-1902, d. 07-27-1984). Guy was the son of Charles Claud "Charlie" Castleberry (b. 08-31-1879, d. 04-20-1960 in Forsyth Co., Ga.)and who married Ada Ann Bennett (b. 06-01-1881, d. 01-23-1962 in Forsyth Co., Ga.) on 12-12-1897 in Forsyth Co., GA. I am not sure if the Unknown child of Charles and Ada was a son or a daughter. Charlie Castleberry was the son of Benjamin William Castleberry (b. 03-04-1843, d. 01-05-1931) and Mary Adeline Jones (b.05-26-1847, d. 06-20-1905). Both Benjamin and Mary are buried at Salem Baptist Church in Northeast Forsyth Co., Ga. Charlie has a sister named Sara N. "Sally" Castleberry (b. 04-1877, d. 1953 and is buried at Harmony Grove Bapt. Ch. Cem. in Forsyth Co., Ga.) and who married Thomas Jefferson "Bud" Pendley (b. 03-1867, d. 1951). Benjamin was the son of William Madison Castleberry (b. 09-07-1803 in Pendleton Dist., S.C. and d. 04-17-1828 in Hall Co., Ga.) and Sarah Wallis (b. 12-25-1811, d. 1850 in Forsyth Co., GA.). William Madison Castleberry and Sarah Wallis were married on 04-17-1828 in Hall Co., Ga. William Madison Castleberry was the son of Odian Castleberry (b. 01-18-1775, d. between 1841-1844 in Forsyth Co., GA. and buried in the Castleberry Family Cemetery) and Margaret Tallent (b. 1777, d. sometime after 1850). Odian Castleberry was the son of William Castleberry (b. about 1745 in Germantown, PA.) and Elizabeth Claiborne.
The only child of Guy and Ada Azalee is a Wayne Hope Castleberry (b. 01-11-1938, d. 1982).

Hello!
My ggg grandfather was John Robert Castleberry. Acxcording to a letter I recieved from my mother today, his father was Odom Castleberry and his father was also named Odom. I have heard that John Roberts father was William also. This is the closest I've come to what I've been told. Do you have any record of a John Robert Castleberry shown as the son of Odom or Odian or anything similar to that? Do you have records? I would appreciate anything you can tell me! Thanksyou.
