My name is Clarissa (Cherie) Scillia; my maiden name is Medel from the Philippines; my grandfather, Benito Medel came from Spain, a town called Mansanilla, which I have been told is now submerged under water. A dam perhaps? I do not know which province or region Mansilla is located. My Spanish is poor, and I would appreciate getting an English translation of your post. My father was born in the Philippines in 1915, but I don't know exactly when my grandfather arrived in the Philippines. My mother told me that the Medel's from Spain are Jewish; they left Spain to evade persecution.
