I am beginning to search for my ancestors. Anyone with iformation about the Johnson's of Holmes County please let me know. My Grandfather's name was George Clinton Johnson. He died sometime in the early 1950's.

My great grandfather was Thomas W. Johnson who was sherriff of Holmes County from 1918-1928 and my grandfather was Park E. Johnson born in 1914.

My GGGrandmother was Sarah Irene Johnson of that area of Florida. She was believed to be part native American.

About three years ago I was traveling through the area and met an older gentleman named Cecil Johnson who looked remarkably like my father (Charlie Raymond Courtney)
(Courtney named changed from Coatney around early 1900's) who grew up in Bonifay. Mr. Cecil Johnson lived in Argyll, Florida not very far from Bonifay.
