Surnames: Faulkner, Morris
I am trying to find the death records of my Great Grandmother Ella May Faulkner nee Morris. I know she was still living in November 1965 as I found her name in her brother's obituary and she still listed Wichita as her home. Her husband was Thomas Benjamin Faulkner (who's info I am also researching) They had several children: Virgie, who supposedly married a solider and seems to have dropped of the planet, Richard Maple, who was killed and I located his grave and my grandfather James Rosco or Roscoe depending on when he wrote it. The Morris brothers that passed away in 1965 (James and will) both were still in the area and I am hoping that she is buried there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a date of birth for Ella? There are 4 Ella Faulkner's in Texas who are found in the SS Death Index

Ella Faulkner 7 Mar 1898 Jun 1973 League City, Galveston, Texas

Ella Faulkner 6 Oct 1904 Aug 1980 Dallas, Dallas, Texas

Ella I. Faulkner 16 Aug 1904 15 Dec 1975 Commerce, Hunt, Texas

Ella Faulkner 9 Oct 1904 Feb 1978 Lubbock, Lubbock, Texas

Maybe with a little more info, I can find more. Julie

She was born in North Carolina in December 1879. I searched the Texas death records and social security death records, but I am new to the family research community and would appreciate any help.
Thanks

How about Thomas? When was he born. Maybe if we can find him, we will know where she is. Where are her children buried? Chances are, since they died before she did, she and Thomas might have bought the plot and are buried along side of them. Julie

Are you sure that you are researching in Wichita Falls, TX and not Wichita, Kansas? I can't find ANY of the names that you mention who have died in Wichita Falls, TX. Julie

Are they all the children of F.M. Morris and Mary Kurner? I found death certificates for Cyrus, Richard and William E. at pilot.familysearch.org but not one for Ella.

One of the brothers is buried at Riverside, one at Rosemont and one at Crestview.

I checked my listings for the city cemeteries and I found a HELEN Faulkner who died in Denton Feb. 28, 1978 and she is buried in the Rosemont Cemetery in Sec. F Lot 008 Space 8. Also in her plot is a Silar Major Faulkner who died Sept. 30, 1976 in Wichita Falls and another Silar Major who died in Denton on April 17, 2003.

I found this obit for him

Siler Faulkner

I dont believe Helen is Ella May, I have a pretty good grasp of my tree from her on down and there has never been mention of Siler. Those may very well be her parents, I lose my trail at her.
This Obituary for her brother James B Morris Sr. dated 2/21/1965 shows her living in Oklahoma and list her brothers and sisters as: sisters Kate, L? and brothers CY, W.E. and W.K. one of whom passed that same year in November.

Thanks again

Thomas Benjamin Faulkner was born in July 1878 and my Great-Uncle Dick was killed at 15 and we found his grave and my Uncle walked the entire cemetary looking for Ella and Thomas but to no avail.

Let me get the obit for Cyrus who died in 1970 and maybe that will give us a hint as to where she was that year. Then we can go from there.

There is one other possibility and that is that she is buried at Crestview which does not have a list of burials. It is a huge privately owned cemetery. You can call them and see if they will do a lookup. Their phone # is 940 767-1770.
If she is buried there, possibly beside her brother and you can get back to me within the next few hours, I will do a lookup for her when I go to the library this afternoon.
I am going for an interview with the local paper for my new book http://genealogy.wehaveneatstuff.com/category/21351908541/1/...

and when I get through with the interview, I can lookup the obits. She is NOT buried at Riverside or Rosemont which are the other two cemeteries in Wichita Falls, so if she is here at all she has to be at Crestview.

Julie
