CONINE/CONYN may be the same as
Connick which is King, My ancestors were
Abraham Staat and Anna King. Here is some of what I have:
Anna KING (1755-1811) married
Abraham STAATS (1750-1826). This information is from the OLD tombstones.
Abe and Anna are buried in the
STAATS Sayre cemetery in
Evans,
Jackson Co. WV...Previously
Mason County,VA.
According to an interview with their grandson, George W. STAATS. (Abraham,
Elijah)
Abe and Anna were from
Delaware. He also said they went to
Dutch Station, in Western
Ohio in 1797 before they came to present day
Jackson Coo, WV about 1799. Dutch Station is in present day
Staunton near Troy,
Ohio.
There are a number of documents which place them in
Harrison county, VA (now WV) prior to that.
Anna's KING family MAY BE (NOT
PROVEN) the same as the DECONNINCK (sp?) or DEKONIG family of
Delaware. There is a book on this family, but, alas, Anna is missing from it.
