For the benefit of those of us -- dazed and confused researchers -- could you provide a link to any website that you recommend?

There is something called Google with a younger brother/sister called Bing - I haven't actually met a computer which is not equipped with one or the other or both - although I can be corrected. You simply type in Families in British India or FIBIS and you will get so many web-sites that I think you would be more confused if I tried to put all of them on a message board. Doing it that way will allow you to pick out the one that suits you best. I would not presume to "recommend" any of them - I have no interest in India apart from general history. It is really very simple - even for the totally confused and exhausted!

Well it isn't necessary to be insulting. Including a link to a site is just a nice thing to do. You might be surprised that there are newbie researchers who don't understand how to use a search engine.

Some people might be insulted by the suggestion that everyone needs to be spoonfed - the odd person does have a brain and good general knowledge and I assume other folk have reasonable intelligence.
