Interested in descendants of Hiram Connell (1800-1856) and his wife Margaret Wallace (1803-1856). They lived in Jackson Twp., Tippecanoe Co., IN. Their daughter, Rebecca R. Connell married George W. Kelly in Tippecanoe Co. in 1846.

My George W. Kelly moved on to Iroquois Co., IL. He later moved to Butler, Bates Co., MO. I lose him there c. 1883. Hiram Connell and his wife Margaret Wallace died in Jackson Twp., Tippecanoe Co., IN in 1856 and are buried at Sugar Grove Cem. Reuben Kelly, father of George, moved on to Clark Co., MO where he died. I believe I have all the burials and the marriages for the Kellys in Tippecanoe Co. I am interested in the descendants of these people.

I've been researching my great grandfather, George W. Kelley, from Wabash Twp. He was born in 1843 in New Albany, IN or possibly KY, son of Charles Kelley and Louisa Chamberlain. For a while, I thought your George Kelley and mine were the same, and I collected some info on him and his wife. I have the 1850 census records for 2 Connell households from Jackson Twp (Stephen Connell and Hiram Connell, wife + 7 kids). George Kelly and Rebecca show up with two children, Margaret, age 4; and Sally, age 2; both born in IN. They are right next to another Kelly household, headed by Ruben Kelly, age 59, from VA. If you want me to list all names and data from these households, let me know. I also have a list of Kelly marriages and burials, if you want me to look up names.

I believe the Ruben Kelly you are talking about is my grandfather. I am the daughter of his son Andrew Jackson Kelly aka Jack Kelly Reed Sr. Ruben Kelly is one of about 24 or 26 children. His father was married 3 times. Let me know if this is good for you or not.

I am the great great granddaughter of George Washington Kelly from Kentucky. He had a son by the name of John Kelly who had a daughter named Martha Kelly. She married my grandfather, Samual Sexton in 1911 in Letcher County,KY. Does any of this connect with your George Washington Kelly? I'd love to know if you have any pictures or further history.

I think they must be 2 different George Washington Kelleys. My George moved before 1840 with his parents to Tippecanoe County, IN, when he was less than 6 years old. He married in White County, IN, and lived his whole life in this area. I have no record of a son John. His sons were William, Charles and George. Sorry. Where in Kentucky was your Kelley family? Did they have any Indiana connections.

The Kelley family I am researching consists of George Washington Kelley (Kelly) who had a son named John who had a daughter named Martha. She married Samual Sexton in 1911 in Letcher County, KY. The lived in this county all their married lives and had 11 children (one being my father). The town they lived in was called Whitesburg which is a coal town -- very small -- population today of about 1500.
