I have already responded to you on Choinskis who lived from Lomza east to Bialystok. Check churches in this area at
your local LDS Family History Center. Use jewishgen, inc and pgsa.org databases to locate towns with churches where
Choinskis lived in 1800's. PGSA ( Polish Genealogical Society of America) in Chicago can help you.

Received a message from Mariusz Choinski, father is Wieslaw
all from LAPY, near Bialystok city, who came to USA in 1990
& might be of help. He came thru: www.pgsnys.org/wwwboard
/submit.cgi .This is the Polish Gen Society of New York State
located in Buffalo, N.Y.. Grajewo was in either Bialystok or Lomza province/wojwodzwu when there were 49 provinces from 1975 to 1999. Now there are 16 provinces which are very
confusing to me and do not isolate areas as they did under 49!
I do not have an Email address for Mariusz !!

Jerry, thank you so much for this information. This is the first potential new lead I've encountered re: my branch of the Choinski's in a long time. I'm well aware that this research takes persistence and patience, but I was beginning to get discouraged. I'll see where it leads me. I'll keep you posted re: any results.

Jerry, one more piece of information that may be of use to you: I have a Photostat of a Baptismal certificate for my g-grandfather, Boleslaw Choinski (b. 1880 in Poland). The document copied was not his original baptismal certificate, but a duplicate produced by an official in Poland--probably as supporting documentation for his US naturalization process. The signature on the document is dated 11 "Maja" 1949. There are four official-looking seals adjacent to the signature. The handwritten entries are difficult to decipher, but as nearly as I can make it out, here is what they say: In the upper left corner is the printed word "Wojewodziwo;" the handwritten word adjacent to it is "Bialostochie". In the upper right corner of the document is the printed word "Powiat." The handwritten word adjacent to it is "Grajewski." Next to the printed word "Parafii" is the handwritten word "Roygrod" (this one was very difficult to decipher, so I may have misinterpreted some of the letters.). From all of this, I have concluded that in 1949, "Roygrod" parish was located in the village of Grajewo in the province of Bialystok. Any thoughts re: this? If it would be useful to you, I'd be happy to send you a copy of this document. Let me know.

We too are looking for any information of Boleslaw Hoinski. He was in Hamtramck Michigan in the 1930's and eventually died there. His sons were John and Stanley. Are you part of this family????

I just started working on family ancestral lines myself. I know that my grandfather Wladislaw Choinski (Hoinski) came to the United States before World War I with 2 of his brothers Joseph and Stanislaw. Joe stayed in Worcester Ma, Stan went to work for the NY Central RR and my grandfather went to Buffalo to work for the Bethlehem Steel Plant. I know that there were brothers left in Poland but the only other name I know of is Alexander. I am not sure of the name of the village where my grandfather was from (?Poznan). If we are related I can tell you about this side of the family tree. If not, well I'm saying hello to another Hoinski!!!!

I don't know much about my GGF B. Hoinski before he arrived in the US. He lived in and near Hazleton, PA and was a coal miner. He came from a village in Eastern Poland/Western Russia. I suspect he was AWOL from the military. My records are not accessable right now (computer meltdown). I'll send his birthplace when I can get to them.

Good luck with your search.
