My name is Rosalee Stackhouse. My e-mail address
is rosalee@cbnn.net and I am searching for my husbands family ties. The Stackhouse family was in the Ronan area in the 1800's & early 1900's. Jesse A. Stackhouse was born in Kalispell : August 1, 1891, a white male. He was living in Ronan in1917, where he registered for the World War I draft. He was a blacksmith working for
Ernest Lanquist. Also, he had a wife and 2 children. Children's names : Jesse Allen Stackhouse, born July 16,1915 in Pocatella, Idaho. Stanley I. Stackhouse, born February 20, 1917 in Ronan, Montana. By the 1920 census, he was in Seattle, Washington and he was a widower! Something happened to his wife. At that time, he was staying with his sister, Pearl, who was 6 years younger than he. I have no connections for the family in Montana before 1891. Who were his parents? What was his
wife's name and who was her family? I have it from the census info. that his mother and father were born in Missouri, but I have no names, dates or places to tie them all together. Thank you in advance for anything about them!

Rosalee,

From my maternal side of the family there was a Stella Stackhouse who married Oswald Remie Felsman on Jan 23, 1914 in Ronan, Missoula County, Mt. The Felsmans are my connection. Stella was born in 1896 in Kalispell, Flathead County, MT. They had a son: Leonard Ronald Felsman born April 5, 1916. Oswald married again in 1918 and had 10 more children. Stella was the daughter of James Stackhouse and Mary Dexter. I don't know if Stella died or if she and Oswald divorced, I would have to go through my records to see if I have that info. It could be that Stella was a sister or a cousin to your Jesse as their birth dates were close in years.

Thank you so much Wendy. I will add your information to what I have -- hopefully I'll be able to tie it together soon. I have only the names I mentioned. No James, but there has to be a connection somehow. Again, thanks.

Today I just got the death Certificate, Register 0993,No.36 from the State of Oregon. Stella Stackhouse Felsman was born 23 Oct 1898 in Montana (assume it might be Kalispell), and she died 5 March 1919 at Portland,Multnomah,Oregon, and buried in Multnomah Cemetery on 10 March 1919. Cause of death: Puerperal Septicemia of 10 days due to a miscarriage. So Leonard might have had a sibling. She was 21 years, 3 months, and 10 days old.

I'm the great granddaughter of Jesse Allen Stackhouse born 1891 died 1950 buried in Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, Washington. He married Winnie Clarke (1897-1918). I don't know what happened to Jesse Jr. or Stanley. Her parents were Ferdinand Toulton Clarke (1857-1940) and Maryanne Ferguson. Jesse was a brakeman working for a logging company(unknown) near Seattle. He remarried in 1920 to Ruby H. Williams (father born in Missouri, mother born in New York names unknown) 1895-1967. They had five children Leonard F. Stackhouse adopted, Forrest D. born 1/24/1922-1/1/1949 pilot in WW2, Harley Marvin born 9/22/23-8/12/1998 US Navy in WW2 helped rescue men from the USS Indianapolis. Worked in the pulp mill in Tacoma, Wa. Had one son Frank Allen (Harley is my grandfather), Ruby (Ione) birth 1924 or 25 death unknown, and Ada (Ailene) A born 1928 or 29 death unknown. I know some of the information is incomplete but my grandfather had a family fall out with his sisters just after my dad was born and never spoke to them after that he was very stubborn which is family trait unfortunately. But that's all the information I have. I currently live in Australia m/ with four kids and my sister Heidi lives in Austria m. w/6 kids. I am on Facebook under the name Jessie Alexander pm me if you have anymore questions.
