I am descended from a Jeremiah Jones, born ca. 1785 ? who had a son named Henry Jones. According to census records of 1850 son James Jones born 1790 said he was born in Tn. Have found nothing in records to indicate where in Tn. Jeremiah Jones, Sr. died ca. 1861 since court records of Blount Co., Ala. began estate settlement ca. Feb. 1861 and stretched into 1864. Children of Jeremiah Jones and Eliza Brown were: (not necessarily in birth order) Michael S. Jones, Henry S. Jones, William B. JOnes, Jesse G. JOnes, Jeremiah Jones, James JOnes,
George J. JOnes, and Nancy Jones Pickle. These were children listed in will. I believe there was also an Elizabeth Jones who married Josiah McCollum because much of the controversy in estate settlement was with Josiah McCollum. I have also been told that he had a daughter named Hester who married Thomas Lovelady in Jefferson County, Ala. Jones Valley was settled by John JOnes, either cousin or brother to Jeremiah Sr., according to early history of Alabama.John Jones also had a brother Jolly JOnes. Jones Valley, and related area, stretched from southern end of what is now Madison County, south through what is now Blount Co. and into the north tip of what is now Jefferson Co., Ala. I hope this ifo means something to you. I would really like to find more info about Jeremiah JOnes Sr. I am at a dead end right now.

I need to correct that ca. 1785 birth. Jeremiah had a son born 1790, so let's change that to a more realistic figure of ca. 1770 or possibly earlier.

My ancestors are traced back to my GGG Grandfather Telempicus Tull Jones 1821-1895 with certainly. I am in the process of confirming three generations before Telempicus. My ancestors appear to have come from Virginia, Henry Jones born 1760 to 1770 and listed in the 1810 Census in Kentucky. His son Jeremiah born about 1790 to 1810. Jeremiah died in Pope County Illinois, and was listed in the 1780 to 1790 Census had 4 males and 3 females. One of his sons was Telempicus Tull.

In my Jeremiah's estate settlement, sons listed were James Jones, George J.Jones, and William B. Jones - all 3 deceased; Jesse G. Jones, Michael S. Jones, Henry S. Jones, and Jeremiah (son). The only daughter listed was Nancy Jones married to Robert Pickle. The dates that you give for your Jeremiah are closer to the dates of my James, son of Jeremiah. Don't think we connect.

Thank you for your response. My g-grandfather was Charles Edward Jones, born 6-1868 in Georgia, he is the son of Lot H. Jones ( Georgia ) He was married to Callie Melissa Toole born 1867 in South Carolina.
Children were: Clara Belle Jones born 1901 in Georgia and Attie Lee Jones born in 1908 in Roanoke, Virginia. Charles and Callie moved to Roanoke sometime after the birth of daughter Clara Belle. They had 6 children and only 2 lived to adulthood. I know that Charles Jones died while living in Roanoke. My story is that is death between 1909 and 1919 was caused by some sort of train accident. Do you have any information regarding this family line.
