Henry Haynes (1701) had the following children: George, Dinah, John, Mary, Henry, Nancy, Parmenas...in no particular order are they listed.
John Haynes married Sarah Phelps, dau. of Col. John Phelps of Va....they had the following children: Jane,1753, who married William Greer (b.1748)[son of Aquilla Greer, 1716/1719]; John, who is to have married twice; Thomas, 1765; Henry, 1767, who married Rebecca Tatum; Phelps, 1770, who married Mary Hart/Hurt; a "debated" dau., Lucy Ann, who very well could have been a dau. of John's brother, George and his wife, Lucy Phelps.
William Greer had at least two of his children, and their families, move to Noxubee County, Ms. Abraham Greer and his children are known to have lived there. Lucy, a dau., had her family move there, by this time she had married into Hudson. The first record found is a guardianship by Frederick Hudson in 1837 for Lucy Sophrona Ragan, Lucy's niece, dau. of Mary Greer and Jerimiah Ragan.
Now the interesting part: Dinah Haynes married Stephen English......there is a Stephen English listed in the early census records of Noxubee County. Most likely not the same one, but most likely "of the same line". George Haynes married Lucy Phelps, suspected to be a sister of Sarah, wife of brother John. Henry Haynes (Jr.) married Sarah Greer, sister to William Greer listed above. Mary Nancy Haynes (Mrs. Lowe) married James Greer, a brother to Sarah and William.
Now, Nancy had married Asa Lowe, he died...however, they had two children, and their dau., Mary "Polly" Lowe, married Asa/Asel Greer, another brother to Sarah, William, and James.
Dinah Haynes and Stephen English had children, one of which was Henry English. He married his first cousin, Betsy Haynes, dau. of Sarah Greer and Henry Haynes, Jr. One of their daughters, Nancy, married a man named William Beasley.
He died in Georgia after a fall from a horse. She never remarried. She will be found in Noxubee County, Ms. This is where the Beasley family of Noxubee County originated. They had children: Elizabeth, Sarah Annie, Mary, Henry O., William, and Caroline. There are records of all being in Noxubee county execpt Caroline who it is believed died in Georgia.
When the Haynes families of Noxubee are seperated out, we will find that they are the sons of Phelps and Henry, and a slight chance of Thomas' children being there exists. These fellows stopped off in Alabama before arriving in Noxubee County.
To make the chase more interesting: Lucy Greer married Frederick Hudson, son of John Hudson and Mary Beasley of Lunenburg Co., Va. It is believed that Mary was an older sister of William, who married Nancy English.
Over in Winston County, Ms. the families of more Greer and Haynes relatives can be found. Don't overlook the neighboring counties.
