Margaret Emma Thompson (b 1835 Gateshead, Co Durham, England/d 1923 Victoria) & her husband Henry migrated c1888 with their children. Matthew Hewson Thompson (b 1863 Newcastle upon Tyne/d 1945 Victoria) was one of her sons. He married Lilian Turber.

Other children: daughters Amy & Alice, sons William & David.

Am interested in any information about the Thompson family in Victoria from c1888 to 1945.

Thank you for your posts Judy. I had the info about Margaret Emma and Mathew - Henry is new. He was born abt 1834, so the age is within possible bounds. We know he died after they left England in 1887, and bef 1901.

Actually I found Margaret and Matthew on the 1891 census in Victoria and she is already a widow but I don't see another death for Henry. He may have died enroute.
