looking for info on the marriage of annie(anna) yokum/yochim(many different spellings) and anton fetterer(fertterer) ..said to have married in fromberg,carbon co.,mt. around 1920..info very slim..any help would be greatly appreciated and will do research in return, have access to census and other data...thanx in advance!!!!!

My name is Leonard Fertterer. My father was Leo Fertterer, my grandfather was Anton and my grandmother was Annie. I have some information on Annie. Well, my intent is to find the original spelling of my family's last name. To my knowledge, Anton and Margaretha had a falling out and Anton changed his last to the current spelling. I would like to find anyone who knows the original spelling. Is it Russian or German? My understanding is that Anton was born in Odessa, Russia; year unknown. Emigrated to US in early 1900's. Annie had 6 children, the oldest my father, Leo. She had 4 boys and 2 girls; all born in Great Falls, MT. It's my understanding that she had 4-5 siblings. She was born in North or South Dakota. I don't know her date of bith or death. I only know she died in the mid-60's. I moved to Oregon when I was 12 in 1959 and I only remember approximate dates. Please post any specific questions as I am new at this :)

Through a distant cousin(1st great grandchild of margaretha/andreas),we have determined that the name was originally spelled FETTERER. It is german. Anton was born in 1887 in russia.died in 1970 great falls,montana. his parents were jacob;born 1850 died around 1950 in siberia. elizabeth hirsch born 1850 died 1917(starved to death when revolution began. antons grandparents; anton & barbara (frances) fetterer; they died in brazil.. his other sibs were rosemarie, celestine,amelia,frank & adam. the 3 girls stayed in russia. anton came to america in 1903 with margaretha and andreas.
