Looking for any information on Nathaniel Bracy (b. VT abt. 1788) who lived in Caroline from early 1800s to about 1842. m. Polly Pierce(?), children: Nelson, Warren, Clark, Elisha, Edwin, Chloe, Sarah. Polly died 1817(?), He married Rowena Stevens, who may have been the same person as Ruamy Hoose. Children: Dyle (Nathaniel?), Harrison, Laura, Daniel. Nathaniel and most of his family ended up in Huron Co. OH, where he died in 1863.

I have a Clark Bracy born 1817-1819 NY m) Feb 20 1836 Candon, NY to Deborah Morellz. His father and mother are listed on his 1880 census to be from VT. I have tracked the census and find him 1840 in Candor, TIoga NY next county to Nathaniel and Edwin Bracy in Caroline, Tompkins. In 1850-1860 Clark is in Crawford County, PA, 1870 New London Twp, Huron County, OH. Clark had 12 children one of which was my great grandfather Clark Philip Bracy b 1855 PA d. Jackson Co, MI. Other children included Lucy, Lydia, Sarah, Amanda, Edwin, Elisha, John Mary, George, Chloe, and James. Do you think this Clark and the Clark you have listed as a child of Nathaniel Bracy the same? If so do you have any further information regarding Nathaniel? Will be glad to share what I have on Clark. Thanks

Wondering if you have learned any more about this Clark Bracy & his wife, Deborah. What is the source of the marriage record? I have only 11 children - don't have Edwin. Deborah is related to my Morrell family. Scott

I have quite a bit on Clark & wife Deborah. The source of their marriage was on a family sheet found in my grandmother's (Mabelle Bracy dau of Clark Phillip) family bible as well a from a pamphlet written called "Brief History of the Bracy Family". Their marriage was 20 Feb 1836 Candon, Tioga Co., NY. It's been awhile since I worked on this line and I will have to check and see if I also found it in NY records. Edwin died as a child so perhaps that is why you don't have him--Born 23 July 1844 and died 20 Aug 1847. I don't believe I have the parent's names of Deborah Morrell--only my speculation based on census records. If I can be of any more help just let me know or email me at DRGREMA1 at aol.com

Thank you for the post. I do have the marriage of Philip to Martha in Lenawee Co., MI, 1899. I may have gotten this after my original post. I don't have any children by this marriage, though, so not sure if this is complete. I have three marriages for Philip (also known as Clark Philip). I would be interested if you have any additional info on wives, or four known children (two each by first two wives). Thank you again.

Aug 18, 1875 died March 1, 1955 buried Woodland Cem Jackson, MI. Married Sept 26, 1894 Ada Ethyl Richmond (2)Jennie Bracey b. 1878 d. 1954 buried Franklin Cem. Tipton, MI; married William Hones. (3) Lillie Bracey d. 1965 Toledo Ohio; married Frank Wricker. (4)? John-Not sure about this one.
Clark Philip Bracey m) #2 Ella H. (Saltzgibber)Lane Nov 18, 1892. Ella died 1897 and buried Deerfield Cem, Deerfield MI. She had a son by previous marriage Lester Lane. Lester is buried beside. Clark Phillip & Ella Bracey. They had (1) Mabelle Mae b. Dec 17. 1893 d. Feb 8, 1963 m) Ora Dewitte Noyer (2) Blanche I. b. 1895 d. 1966 buried Oakwood Cem Adrian MI, married Andrew F. Roesch. He married #3 Martha Gooding. She had children by a previous marriage but they didn't have children together. Hope that helps with Clark Philip's children.
