I have been trying for almost a year now to find anyplace at all that sells the book "Pasajeros a la Espanola 1492-1530" by Vilma Benzo de Ferrer, which was published in 2000 in Santo Domingo. You would think that a book published so recently would be readily available, and it is clear from finding references to it on many websites -- including this board -- that people have found a place to buy it. But I cannot find anywhere on the internet that it is actually available for purchase.

The company Libros Latinos does advertise a copy, but when I ordered it from them in June 2011, they said that they do not actually have a copy and were unable to find a copy to sell to me. This was the only website that advertised it for sale.

I bought this book when it was first published from a bookstore in the Dominican Republic LIBRERIA LA TRINITARIA. Contact: 809-682-1032 or 809-686-6110. I'm not sure if they are still in business but they were a well known bookstore located in the Colonial District in Santo Domingo. I faxed them my information and they shipped the book fast to New York. As for payment, I wired the money. Give them a try, good luck!

I finally gave up trying to buy a copy. Even though it is a very recent book, it seems there are no copies to buy. But I did find copies to obtain on inter-library loan and did copy the index page that happens to also include SERRANO entries:

For some reason, they are in two separate groups in the index, as follows:

I obtained it via inter-library loan after finding several libraries via WorldCat, where it is at:

You can obtain it and look up these references. They are grouped by towns, with the vast majority in Santo Domingo. Some entries are minimal. Some are a whole paragraph or more.
