MARY B. DEMICHELE, 84, of Troy, died surrounded by her family at Albany Memorial Hospital on Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, after a brief illness.
She was born in Lawrence, Mass, on Feb. 2, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary
Murphy Boucher.
She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Coast
Guard from 1943 to 1945. She did private duty nursing in the
Boston area before moving to Colonie, N.Y. in 1963. She was employed at the Veteren's Administration Hospital in Albany, retiring in 1978 to become the administrator of The Episcopal Church Home, now the
Canterbury House in Troy, retiring in 1987 where she continued to reside until her illness.
She was the mother of Joan
Johnson and her husband, Daniel, of Colonie; Paul and his wife, Linda, of Nicholasville, Ralph and his wife, Linda, of
Cary, N.C., and John and his wife, Colleen, of Colonie.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Scott
Johnson and Heather
Johnson, Marc and his wife, Nicole; Matthew, Ashley, Britany, Eric and Danielle
DeMichele. She is also survived by two great-grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas.
A memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Frederick Funeral Home in albany. Burial was held privately at the convenience of the family at Memory's Garden in Colonie.
