My maternal grandfather, Victor Czerminski, was born in 1867 in Russia (Poland). He died 7 June 1905 in Salem Hospital, Mass., Essex Co. and was buried 10 June 1905 in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetary in Salem. He was a tanner and a Catholic. He married Stanislawa (Stella) Lubeseslia. They had three children; Chester, Genevieve Felicia, and Tillie. My mother, Genevieve, was born 9 May 1899 in Warsaw and was baptized in a large Catholic cathedral (St. John's?) in Warsaw

Loretta, If you are still around, please contact me. I have done quite a bit of research lately on this family name and am still putting the puzzle pieces together. Adam
is a family name and I know he had 2 sisters -1 of which was my grandmother. Don't know what other siblings there may have been. All from the Plock area.

I am looking to find some information on the family last name of Czerminski. My mother has that last name, yet we're not sure if it was given to her or if she was born with it. She was born in Poland in 1932, approx. April...was rescued by the Red Cross around 1935 and given to the Catholic Church...then taken in by some Polish people for a few years (investigating their names)...then taken by the nazi's and put into what she called a concentration camp for kids. At around 9 or so she was taken in by Foster Parents (Bogensperger's) from Austria.

We know virtually nothing about her parents. Even her birth records state "parents unknown"..but somehow she got the name of Irena Czerminski.

Anyone having any history on Czerminski's from Poland in or around 1932 to current...I would love to hear from.

Not sure if you are still around...but i am also looking for people with the name Czerminski. This is my mom's maiden name....however she is not sure if it's a family name..or one given to her. Her parent/s were killed by Nazi's, and on her birth info parents are listed as "unkown". However...it does show the name Irena Czerminski/ska. She was born in Lodz, Poland around 1932 and came to the US in 1954 after marrying my dad (an American Soldier. Just trying to find out any history on that name. Let me know if you have anything to add!

My grandmother was a Czerminski which is the Polish spelling from the records I've seen. The Czerminski's had land west of Lodz (I think that is Gozdowo  parish) but also lived in Zuki, Kurowo parish, which is north of Lodz. They were quite well off at one time but fortune had diminished greatly by WWI. Many records destroyed during WW II. Any of the family could have moved to the city (Lodz)after the major emmigration period during the post WWI occupation when farm land was being conscripted. I have some records dating back to Jakub CZERMINSKI (nobil man-born abt 1805) and Katarzyna RYCHARSKA. Jakub gave Katarzyna a village or two for a wedding present. No way of knowing if this is your ancestor. Sorry I can't help more.
