I have received a typed booklett on The Hartman Family composed by W.L.Hartman Geigers Mills, PA..started in 1906. It is the family history of the John(Johann)Hartman family, which came from Germany to America in 1751 and settled in Berks, Reading, and Schulykill PA. I believe it was copied and given to family members including the Turrentines, Lemons, Simpsons in the 50's and sixties. Includes transcripts of letters written between family members in the mid 1800's. It is by no means a complete history but has sections on many branches of the family andd information that I have found no where else. Let Me know if you are searching for any Hartmans or decendants and I can see if they are listed there

Wow, what a treasure you have!! I have not done any research in years. I have to loook up dates.
Off the top of my head, do you have any Philip Hartman? The W.L. sounds familiar, so I will have to dust off my records and look. Thanks so much.

Kim,
I went through the notes front to back and did not find a Philip but then the notes stop in 1906 and focus mainly on his side of Hartmans so I will dig around some more and see if there are any Philips later that he did not have the names of yet as a couple of the family offshoots he did not have all the names of their children listed or were not born yet.....
Let you know what and if I find anything,
Diane

Hi,
Sorry it is taking me a long time to answer. I have started at the beginning in the notebook. It seems every offspring named one of their Children Michael and then their offspring named a child Michael and so on, so it makes for alot of Michael Hartmans and I want to be sure I don;t miss one. I have gotten so used to computers and the searchability. but this is fun too and will make me remember more....I will let you know what I find either way.

I am looking for George Hartman, parents Peter Hartman from Germany. They lived in Indiana in the 1860's. Mothers name was Phoebe.
Thanks
Peggy

I am looking for Henry Hartman's family. He was born about1754 probably in Germany. He was living in Hampshire County WV at the time of his death. He may have been from Frederick County Maryland before going to Hampshire county. Is there a list of his children?
Thank you.
Ann Bland Hartman
How many pages does the booklet have?
Is it possible to get a copy?
