Are you providing all the information you can on your father? Is there more info on the death record, for example? Is it a death certificate? If not the certificate, it would be a good thing to obtain.

A quick search of 1911 census, I found no George Hamilton's in Nova Scotia born Feb 1906. I did find a George Henault born in Feb 6th 1905 in Quebec. Can you provide any more info?

I apologize for taking so long to reply because i have,nt been feeling well. Your right i did not put down the information for what i am searching for. Just so were clear i was taken from my parents when i was three years old. So i do not know much. My father's birth date i learned from his death certificate which is 02/04/1906 and where he was born in halifax's Nova Scotia I learned this from relatives. With some relatives i never knew when they were telling me the truth,so i learned to take it with a grain of salt. I got my parents married infromation from my mothers baptismal papers. Beatrice Margaret,Hamilton (Born Harley on 05/16/1924 and George J, Hamilton Jr. Got married on 12/30/1948 in a St. Jose ship Church at 138 Waverly Place. I am not sure of my father's name. At the age of 21 i was put in contact with a relative and that was how i learned of my father George Louis, Hamilton. I am not so sure of George J, Hamilton Jr. I can't find the church. and i have been searching for a very long time. And the george J, Hamilton Jr i got from my mother,s baptismal papers.

Here are four people researching Hamilton's of Colchester County Nova Scotia. Through researching a bit in Nova Scotia, this is a possible birth place of your father. After clicking on the link, scroll down till you find the four Hamilton names, and they all have email addresses you can use to contact them for further information. I found George's and Lewis' from Colchester County, but no 2/6/1906 birth record...but that doesn't mean he wasn't born then. There's always the possibility that the birth date you have is not correct. I've found three reasons for "mistakes" like that to happen during this time period. 1) WW1 and WW2 draft, and 2) immigration fudging, and 3) transcription/human memory error. That is IF your birth date is an error. I found a Lewis Kent Hamilton, son of George born January 26, 1909 (baptism could have been on 2/6??), in Cross Roads, Colchester Co, Nova Scotia, and recorded Feb 20th 1909.

Any idea what faith your parents may have been?

Of course I don't mean death record. A death certificate often has
1) Place of birth of the deceased.
2) Parents names of deceased.
3) Name of person filling out information on the deceased.

All that info is important.
