Hello -

I am looking for some information about McKee's in Fleming County, KY during the 1800's. I believe this is where my line is from. I have a GGGF Thomas McKee, born c. 1876 or 1877 in Kentucky, per 1910 Census in Mill township, Grant County, Indiana. Married Pearl (unknown maiden) of Grant county in 1898.

1880 Census shows only one Thomas McKee, born during target timeframe and in KY, listed as Nephew of Elizabeth Ingram (or Ingran)in town of Tilton (Maybe Litton)in Fleming Co KY. Father James McKee also listed in household, born c. 1810.

Searching the Ancestry community I found information regarding these people, Elizabeth McKee born c.1836 to James and Eliza Mott McKee, married Hiram Ingram. I can not find any siblings of Elizabeth to identify parents of Nephew Thomas. Of course this may be a moot point if I can prove this is not the Thomas McKee born 1876-77 that I am related to, but I believe it is a strong probability of being correct.

I would love to share information with anyone from this line of McKee's.

Further research solved my own mystery:

Thomas Silas Mckee born Sept 1876 to William and Margaret Caroline Dillon. Margaret died Nov 1876. Thomas married Pearl May Kingen in 1898. Pearl was born abt 1882, have just begun to look for her parents. With no 1890 census, born after 1880 census, and married before 1900 census makes finding her parents more of a pain!

William (and Elizabeth Ingram Mckee)was one of 8 children of James S. McKee and Eliza Mott McKee, born abt 1847. William is included in Elizabeth Ingram's 1870 census record in Fleming County, but is not listed on 1880 census with Thomas. I am still researching death date and residence of William.

James S. born to Robert R Mckee and Elizabeth Tout, which makes him a grandson of Guian McKee sr., b 1750 in Scotland.
