I am serching for information about my great grand parents, William Hood and Flossie Secord. William was nautralized in Elmira sometime between 1883 and 1892. Children were Arvie, Isla, Mildred, Reva, and my grandmother Donna. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Need DOB and place of birth for William.

Born Nov 13 1869 Greenup Co KY, married Flossie Secord in MI, circa 1890.

If William was born in Greenup county, Ky. why would he need to be naturalized?

Good question, and that's why I am looking for some sort of assistance. My grandmother says he was born in KY, but he filed a declaration of intent with the dept. of naturalization in northern MI sometime around 1890. This does not mean necessarily that he was of foreign origin, of that I am well aware. Just trying to determine where exactly he did in fact come from, so that I can continue with my research.

1920 census for William Hood does not show any date for immigration to US. He is living next to his father inlaw and brother inlaw. Data follows -

By 1930 William has died. Can't be found in Mich. 1930 census.

Thank you thank you thank you Tom! May I ask where you found that info, and so quickly? It is definatly my great grandfather, born 11-13-1869, died june of 1967. I'm so happy to finally see a bit of proof he is actually from KY! The info on the Secord family is wonderful as well..

Would you or anyone have any info on Almeda Slater ? She has a brother Named Charles Hood and had a Sister Named Cecila Armstrong. Also a brother Named Edward Slater. She was born in Bellaire Michigan in 1890. My Great Aunt said she was a Hood when born .Please get back with me if you have anything or not. Thanks

Can anyone tell me any info about Rosella , She was married to william Mott Hood in i believe 1876. They lived in Gaylord Otsego Michigan. I need to find out more info on her. I know she was adopted in pontiac Michigan in 1863. She was born in Quebec. She is indian i beleive. Please if anyone can help please do so.
