Could anybody help me with information about family's in Rangoon from 1840 to 1940. Names; Reich, Black, Tingley, Bond and Sim. Regards Dave.

Hello Dave.
You mention the surname "Reich" in Rangoon. My paternal grandmother (Winifred Maud Oung) was born in Rangoon. Her brother (Daniel Walter Oung) married Margaret (Peggy) Florence REICH.
Daniel and Margaret emigrated to Australia in the late 1960's and she took her mother (I think her name was also Margaret Florence - born 23 Aug 1898 but her first name could have been Mary).
I wonder if we have a mutual interest/connection here?
Kind regards, Marty Wooster

Do you know if Henry Reich went to Burma? Thank you.

My husband's grandmother was a Reich. She was born in Burma in 1925. She had several siblings: Leslie, Norman, Peggy, Marina, Sonny. Her name was Esme. I think the mother was Margaret Vega (Portuguese descent) and the father was Henry Reich.

I'm almost positive Margaret Florence Reich is my husband's great grandmother. Did she have a daughter named Esme as well?

My mother's maiden name was Bond. She & her siblings were born in Rangoon in the early 1900s; her mother was also born in Burma; her father, a teacher in Rangoon, was born in Bangalore. The family fled Rangoon to India in 1942 when the Japanese invaded though one of my uncles returned to Rangoon after the war, living as a Burmese.
Which Bonds are you looking for?

Henry was born in Burma, a brother of my g/father
