I am researching my great grandmother Helena Mishechowsky (seen this way in ship records)(or Michkowsky in other religious records). Her father was Stanislaw from Karwacz, Poland (named as Karwach Gub Plock Russia in 1911). Helena was born in 1892. She had a brother named Francziszek and a sister Sophie. Sophie was born in 1888. Helena, Sophie and Frank settled in Philadelphia, PA. I cannot locate Frank afterwards. Sophie married Sahig Vahanian. Sincerely, Sandy Lovell

Sandy I have some relatives who went to Cleveland, Ohio but their name was spelled Mscichowski. I found some of their records in Lomza at the main office. I'm sure you are aware that names are misspelled. My Dad's name was correct on army records, misspelled on census, and misspelled another way on marriage certificate. Go figure. I am not familiar with the area you mention although my relatives were also under occupation by the Russians.

Dear Sandy, My name is Destiny Smith. My greatgrand-ma Sophia Vahanian lived in Philadelphia, PA when she was younger but from what I know she was born on July 4 1893 and died in April of 1976. I'm new to looking for family history and am unsure if this is at all helpful. Whatever information I can give you just ask. My uncle John Vahanian might have more info. I'll show him your message and ask if he knows anything. Good luck.

Hi I just wondered if you figured out if we were related or not?
