I am seeking information regarding Charlotte
She came to New Zealand in 1877 on the ship
James NicolFleming with her parents GEORGE
HOSEMAN and Mother Jane Hoseman (formerly Horrocks)the family is from Middlesex ,and are believed to be related to Horrocks founder of cotton mills. I have an abridged version of the Horrocks family tree 1728 to 1935. I have contacted a person in Australia

In your abridged version of a branch of the Horrocks family tree, do you happen to have a James Horrocks, or possibly James William Horrocks? He was probably born between 1800 and 1820. He married Mary Smethurst , probably in 1835. He had a daughter, Jane Ann, born in 1849. She also went to New Zealand.
Greetings from a Kiwi in California.

Hi Geoff,

I am searching for any information on the Horrocks family of the cotton mills. I believe that we are related to them, but have had no luck tracing any further than my great grandfather. Samuel Horrocks was born in Lancashire in 1882, and was chief inspector at the Wigan Police Station. He married Alice Anne Middleton, and they had 7 children. Samuel retired in 1948 and died in 1959 aged 77. Sadly I only know the names of 2 of their children.
A copy of the family tree, or any other information you may have will be greatly appreciated.
